Crossgates and Macy’s are partnering with the Westmere Elementary School (Guilderland School District) PTA for a sneaker drive to raise funds to go towards a new inclusive playground that will serve students in kindergarten through second grade. Partnering with Gotsneakers.com, a charity that recycles people’s old shoes and donates them to those who don’t have any, GotSneakers will reimburse the fundraiser — $1 for slightly-worn shoes and $3 for new. Old shoes and sneakers (including cleats) may be dropped off in a bin that will be located at Macy’s lower level.
