October 10 is World Mental Health Day, and our Crossgates ambassadors are joining hands with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to raise awareness.
Join us at Crossgates Mall in the common area just before lululemon store (in front of the former Forever 21) on Sunday, October 8 from 9-11 a.m. for a practice in fitness and in mindfulness.
Train Ambassador, TJ Collins, will bring his positivity with a punch to fight mental illness — music, fun, togetherness and sweat. His cardio-kickboxing class for every fitness level will celebrate empowerment through strength and cardio.
Yoga Ambassador, Natalie, will follow with a grounding and mindful yoga class in the sprit of serving mental health. Yoga has been proven to lower stress horemones in our bodies while simultaneously increasing beneficial brain chemicals like endorphines. These feel-good chemicals help decrease anxiety and improve moods!
Special guest Dan Egan, co-chair of AFSP’s local Out of the Darkness events, will speak on the impact wellness can have on mental health. Dan personally experienced losing his father to suicide years ago, and made awareness a passion from then on.
Sign up for this incredible event for free. You can also choose to give a donation that will directly benefit AFSP locally (see link at EventBrite). This is not collected by lululemon, but directly by AFSP. |
